Extra Homework 2009/05/23 20:40 Karma: 0
Does anyone know a budget friendly way to do some extra homework with the kids? Tutors are so expensive... just looking for alternatives.

How old are your kids? We subscribe to www.readingeggs.com.au for our six year old daughter and she loves getting on line and doing her reading. You do have to pay for it but it's not too expensive.

She also has access to a program through school called www.mathletics.com.au - does your school use that program?

As for other hints and ideas, our school puts information into our online newsletter so check out www.coomeraspringsss.eq.edu.au and click on the newsletter link, there are things about Literacy, Numberacy, Weights and Measures etc in nearly every newsletter that has been published this year.

You can try your kids to join online tutorial about homework. You can save money by that. It is a great way to develop good study habits.

Community In Focus

Ipswich, Queensland

A great big thank you to the Ipswich City Council for having me out in April to speak with the community about money management.  Your Mayor and council are to be congratulated for their wonderful intiatives in your community.  I was delighted to be asked to present to you all, it was wonderful to meet so many of you!

Congratulations also to those who "stepped up" and attended the Back to Basics workshop as part of the Money Master Class series.

The GFC, rising interest rates and general cost of living, combined with the floods in January have put some you in difficult circumstances.  I trust that you will use the information from the seminars to help you get back on track.

Remember, it's all about getting Back to Basics!
